Overview

Talcott Financial Group is seeking a Senior Actuarial Consultant to support financial reporting processes, build actuarial models for an annuity valuation framework, and perform model testing, control development, and management reporting.

Responsibilities

1. Perform valuation, financial reporting, and attribution analysis for variable annuity reserves and capital calculations, complying with regulatory and accounting standards.
2. Conduct model testing, sensitivity analysis, stress tests, and scenario analysis, providing insights into key drivers.
3. Collaborate with modeling, finance, accounting, risk management, and audit teams.
4. Assist in documenting VM31 and CFT memoranda for qualified and chief actuaries.
5. Support capital efficiency and enterprise growth projects.
6. Conduct peer reviews for model and assumption changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in insurance or finance, including actuarial valuation or modeling.
• Strong work ethic, ownership, and commitment to meeting objectives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, VBA, Power BI, and R.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage priorities independently under tight deadlines.
