Become part of a team dedicated to financial stewardship, enabling business performance and paving the way for a secure future for generations to come.

New York Life is on a journey to transform its Finance organization into a modern, insight-driven, and AI-enabled strategic partner. As part of this evolution, we are seeking a Senior Associate, Data Visualization & Analytics to join our FP&A Transformation & Finance Data Strategy team. This individual will play a key role in shaping the way Finance visualizes and interacts with data, builds analytical tools, and delivers insights that drive smarter business decisions.

This is a highly visible role with significant opportunities to work across Finance alongside NYL’s Strategic Capabilities teams, as well as to engage with advanced analytical tooling

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and develop advanced interactive dashboards and visual analytics to support FP&A, Actuarial, and broader Finance teams.
  • Translate complex data and analytical outputs into clear, intuitive, and actionable visual stories for business and Finance stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and iterate on high-impact use cases (e.g., reserve sensitivity, lapse analytics, expense drivers).
  • Act as a subject matter expert in modern BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight) and visualization best practices.
  • Support the integration of AI-enabled insights and natural language querying tools into visual dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Build and deploy Python-based Streamlit apps to augment traditional BI dashboards where needed.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and exploration.
  • Proactively recommend new tools and techniques to enhance Finance’s data storytelling capabilities.
  • Mentor peers across Finance on best practices in data visualization and self-service analytics.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 4–7 years of experience in Finance, Analytics, Data Visualization, or a related field, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying large and complex data sets.
  • Experience in at least one major BI tool: Tableau (strongly preferred), Power BI, or Amazon QuickSight.
  • Familiarity with Python, especially in the context of data visualization (e.g., Plotly, Streamlit, Seaborn) or scripting for automation.
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts or experience working alongside data science teams is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with minimal oversight.
  • Strong communication and soft skills – able to explain data insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Highly motivated, curious, and a self-starter who enjoys learning and innovating in evolving technical environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field preferred; advanced degree a plus.

What You'll Gain

  • Hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools like AWS Bedrock, Python-based web apps, and enterprise-scale BI platforms.
  • A role at the intersection of Finance, AI, and Technology during a foundational period of enterprise transformation.
  • High-impact work that drives strategic decisions, with visibility to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
