Job summary

Voya Financial, Inc. is seeking an experienced actuarial professional to design and refine models for profitability and reserves. You will lead complex research, collaborate across product, modeling, and risk teams, and prepare regulator-ready memorandums.

Responsibilities include auditing methodologies, developing automation, and interpreting results for senior actuaries and regulators. This role supports a hybrid schedule with options for remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or a closely related field.
• Must have passed at least 3 Actuarial Exams.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL and SAS; advanced Excel, VBA, Access, Oracle Essbase, and actuarial software.

Duties

• Lead complex actuarial research, design methodologies, and conduct auditlevel reviews.
• Design, develop, and own profitability, reserve, and valuation models, procedures and/or similar processes.
• Develop and refine actuarial models; lead continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
• Work with Product, Modeling, Assumption teams to prepare and validate the actuarial memorandums and supporting files for regulators.
• Utilize knowledge of insurance products and actuarial concepts to provide consultation and clarification on actuarial models and risk issues.
• Serve as actuarial representative in cross functional committees (risk, product, finance).
• Apply actuarial techniques to analyze, interpret and communicate actuarial research results to senior actuaries, claims and regulators.
• Monitor and analyze developments in actuarial techniques and regulatory requirements.
• Perform standard actuarial analysis and experience studies.
• Extract, compile, and organize large data from systems and databases for analysis.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or a closely related field, and three (3) years of experience working as an Actuarial Associate, Actuarial Assistant or related position.
• Must have passed at least 3 Actuarial Exams.
• Experience must include: Strong programming skills in Python, SQL and SAS; Working with advanced Excel, VBA programming, Access Database, Oracle Essbase, Risk Agility Actuarial Software, or MG-Triton Actuarial Software; Working in Financial Reporting performing reserve and cash flow testing, GAAP/Statutory reporting, stress test/scenario analysis, distributable earnings analysis, and has knowledge of reserve/liability, and dynamic lapse rates; Working in producing profitability metrics including Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Return on Capital (ROC), Interest Rate impact analysis; Building or maintaining actuarial models for in-force management and reserve for retirement or group annuity products; Developing/utilizing actuarial assumptions including premium, withdrawals, lapse rates, credit rates, general account cash flow and assets allocation.

Compensation Pay Disclosure

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities. The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. $110,510
