Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to develop and support a robust reserving framework for Ally Insurance. The role will independently lead projects from start to finish, perform advanced analytics, and clearly communicate results to Management and Senior Leadership. Programming skills are a must; SQL/R/Python are preferred.

Qualifications

• ACAS or near ACAS preferred; 5 or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams required.
• 4+ years of experience in actuarial or data science roles; exposure to advanced ratemaking and/or reserving a plus.
• Strong communication and relationship building skills.
• Programming skills in R required (SQL useful).
• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, economics, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support a reserving framework for insurance business, including both standard actuarial techniques and advanced modeling.
• Lead, develop, and communicate advanced analytics to Management and Senior Leadership.
• Foster innovation within the team and across the broader organization.
• Work collaboratively as a part of the product development, pricing, and/or reserving processes.
• Develop reserve indications, produce reserve ranges, and perform advanced analytics.
• Support development of themselves and other associates in an actuarial capacity.
