HDI Global Insurance Company in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to lead key actuarial initiatives for Commercial Lines P&C. The role involves supporting quarterly reserving, pricing insights, and collaboration with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and other functions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics, 2+ years P&C actuarial experience, and progress toward CAS exams, plus SQL, Python/R skills and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 2+ years P&C actuarial experience; completion of 3+ CAS actuarial exams.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python/R and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support quarterly reserving and financial close activities; evaluate loss development, trends, large losses, and actual vs. expected emergence.
• Prepare reserving exhibits, reports, and supporting documentation for reviews and financial reporting.
• Assist in reconciling actuarial results with financial data and investigate differences.
• Monitor portfolio performance, profitability, rate adequacy, and emerging trends to support pricing and filings.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and other functions to understand portfolio performance and key drivers.
• Perform peer reviews to ensure work quality and strengthen collaboration.
• Support ad hoc projects and initiatives assigned by senior actuarial staff.
