About the Role

As a Sr Actuarial Analyst ALDP at UnitedHealth Group, you will lead complex actuarial projects that are strategically important to our mission of helping people lead healthier lives and improving the health system for everyone. This role offers an opportunity to influence business strategy and innovate within the healthcare industry.

Remote Work Flexibility

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely

• from anywhere in the U.S., tackling challenging projects. The position is open to remote candidates nationwide, with preferred locations in Hartford, CT; Cypress, CA; or Minnetonka, MN, for a hybrid work schedule.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform actuarial pricing for commercial group products.
• Support state regulatory reports, surveys, audits, and filings.
• Provide peer review services in a timely manner.
• Develop understanding of core actuarial concepts and applications.
• Identify data issues and outliers in results.
• Support internal business partners including market leadership, underwriting, sales, and product teams.
• Develop presentation materials and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Passed at least 2 actuarial exams.
• 2+ years of actuarial experience analyzing data.
• Intermediate or higher proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, especially in explaining complex topics.
• Strong critical thinking skills to analyze data and develop solutions.

Preferred:

• Experience with healthcare or claim data.
• Experience with health plans of varying sizes.
• Proficiency with SAS and/or SQL.
• Adherence to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy for remote employees.

Additional Details

The salary range is $71,000 to $XX,000 annually, based on experience, location, and qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and more.
