Job summary

  • Experience with Reserving software (ResQ) is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Reserving team is responsible for analyzing claims data and recommending reserves. Reserving books reserves monthly, performs in-depth reserve reviews across multiple lines of business, and collaborates with other areas of the business to share analysis/insights on trends to inform decision-making. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, actuarial knowledge, technical capabilities, and intellectual curiosity. Candidates should be able to understand complex business problems and generate solutions.Responsibilities:This is an individual contributor position. This role may be filled at a level above or below the posted title based on the selected candidate's depth of experience, technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and overall qualifications. Compensation will be determined accordingly.Utilize ResQ and other tools to analyze claims data and develop actuarial projections.Make reasonable recommendations for reserves, utilizing data visualization to support recommendations.Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.Identify opportunities to automate processes, enhance efficiency, and implement data-driven solutions.Identify emerging trends and understand their impact on claims data.Collaborate across departments (Pricing, Product, FP&A, Claims) to share insights and inform decision-making.Present and communicate analyses to appropriate decision-makers and stakeholders.Qualifications:3+ years of relevant experience in Property & Casualty, including Pricing and/or Reserving experience preferredExperience with ResQ or other Reserving software is considered a plusStrong knowledge, utilization of, and ability to learn software tools such as SQL, Excel, R, Python, VBA, PowerBI, etc.Strong data visualization skills and ability to translate data into a storyExcellent communication, problem solving, and creative thinking abilitiesExcellent organization, project, and time management skillsAble to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and adjust priorities as neededAble to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to respond to complex business issues and identify solutionsStrong attention to detail and a proven ability to produce high quality, error-free workActuarial exams not required, but exam support is provided for qualified candidates interested in pursuing that trackHybrid three days a week#LI-HB1Annual Salary$95,325.00 - $157,850.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
