Job summary

American Senior Communities is seeking an enthusiastic Activity Director at Hickory Creek at New Castle to plan, develop, and implement engaging recreational programs for residents. The role emphasizes leadership, creativity, and a passion for senior care within a collaborative team environment.

You will mentor Activity Assistants and coordinate with other departments to ensure meaningful, age-appropriate activities that enhance quality of life for residents and reflect CARE values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years’ experience in a social or recreational program in a healthcare setting.
• Completion of an Activities Director training or a degree in recreational therapy.
• State-approved CNA training and competency evaluation program or CNA competency evaluation program.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement engaging recreational programs for residents.
• Lead and mentor a team of Activity Assistants to deliver age-appropriate activities.
• Collaborate with departments, professionals, and regulatory agencies to ensure quality resident experiences.
• Balance daily schedules, activity prep, and resident needs to maintain smooth operations.
