Job summary

Liberty Health in Matthews, NC is seeking an Activity Assistant to support residents through engaging individual and group activities. You will assist in planning, promoting, and leading activities based on needs and interests, and foster social interaction within the community.

Additional duties include helping with monthly newsletters, calendars, transportation to programs, and coordinating volunteer events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous Activities Assistant/Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Certification as Activities Professional preferred by governing agencies.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Valid NC Driver’s License; CDL preferred or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote and lead activities based on residents' needs and interests.
• Encourage social communication through group activities.
• Assist residents with participation in religious programs and leisure activities.
• Assist with monthly newsletter and activities calendar.
• Maintain, store and use of activity supplies.
• Set up volunteer program and appreciation events.
• Transport residents to and from activity programs.
• Assist with admissions assessments, MDS, care plans and progress notes per policies.
• Facilitate community interaction programs.
