Job summary

The Gathering Place is looking for Activity Assistants to support part-time programming for older adults, helping lead engaging activities and assist with daily routines. The role emphasizes warmth, reliability, and creativity in a welcoming environment and may include personal care tasks as needed.

Schedule is 15-20 hours per week, 3–4 days, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM, with no weekends or evenings. Per diem/on-call roles may also be available and pay ranges from $16 to $18 per hour depending on

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving, recreation, human services, or a related field preferred.
• Experience coordinating activities or working with older adults preferred.
• Ability to lift up to thirty pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in activities such as art, music, games, and light exercise.
• Encourage participation and help each individual feel included and comfortable.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with participants and team members.
• Support meals, snacks, and daily routines.
• Help set up and maintain clean, inviting program spaces.
• Observe and communicate changes in participant needs or mood.
• Contribute to special events, seasonal programming, and community outings.
