Job summary

White Oak Manor Burlington seeks an Activity Assistant to enrich residents’ lives at our 160-bed skilled nursing facility. The role covers planning, assisting with daily activities, and supporting group and 1:1 engagements with patience and empathy.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, team-oriented and capable of managing time while coordinating with care staff and families. Prior activity planning is a plus; weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Qualifications must have sufficient educational background.
• Experience in activity planning is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with residents to determine program needs.
• Contribute to plan of care conferences.
• Design, post and maintain bulletin boards and calendars of activities.
• Assist with 1:1 activities (mani/pedi, reading) and group activities (bingo, concerts, parties).
• Help residents to and from activities and keep attendance/participation records.
• Document accurately and current; assist Residents Council and promote good relations.
• Set up decorations for seasonal holidays; work across the whole facility.
