Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Active Directory Engineer to design, implement, and manage advanced AD and identity solutions within a large enterprise.

You will lead efforts across authentication and authorization, automate routine tasks with PowerShell, and ensure security and compliance. The role requires 8–10 years of hands-on AD experience, TS/SCI eligibility or ability to obtain, and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years hands-on experience engineering and managing Active Directory in large, complex enterprise environments.
• Proficient in AD design, administration, troubleshooting; Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and Windows infrastructure.
• Strong scripting with PowerShell for automation, reporting, and configuration management.
• Hybrid identity solutions and authentication/authorization protocols; security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, manage, monitor, and maintain Active Directory and related directory services.
• Support and optimize identity and authentication systems.
• Provide technical leadership and escalation support for complex identity issues.
• Resolve critical incidents to ensure AD reliability, security, and performance.
• Develop automation and runbooks for directory services operations and incident response.
• Evaluate new tools/technologies to modernize directory services and identity environment.
• Participate in on-call rotations and change management processes.
