Bose Labs is seeking a Senior Acoustic Engineer to help lead efforts that establish and enhance physical reference designs for a variety of wearable applications including audio, noise cancellation and voice related experiences. In this role, your work will regularly span across multiple projects with a variety of both near-term and long-term goals and deliverables. Projects and activities will require a range of contributions including leadership of small, multi-disciplinary project teams, individual contributions for acoustic modeling and data analysis, laboratory measurements, proposing and defining new technology advancement projects, and operating as a technical mentor for teammates. This position sits at the intersection of research and product development. You will use your creativity and innovation skills to translate foundational technologies and technical instances into practical, scalable engineering solutions that can be used as the basis for licensable technologies that support a wide range of wearable products as well as Bose‑branded products development. The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a small cross functional team on several simultaneous parallel projects with the ability to use analytical, empirical and hands‑on methods to quickly work through ambiguous problem spaces.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cross functional engineering project teams to invent, porotype and prove new or improved technologies for new wearable devices and customer experiences
  • Contribute to the definition of documentation standards for existing as well as new, novel mechanical/acoustical reference designs to accelerate development and licensable technology adoption
  • Create simulation models and tools to predict acoustical system behavior and to enable future development teams to quickly evaluate alternate permutations
