Job summary

Victaulic, a leader in mechanical pipe joining, seeks a Senior Acoustical & Vibration Engineer to build its vibration isolation and acoustic capability. You will bridge Victaulic with acoustical consultants and review designs to ensure compliance with specifications.

The role expands over time into direct acoustic consulting on projects; travel up to 25% is expected; relocation assistance is offered, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering, acoustics or related field.
• 8+ years at acoustical or MEP consulting firm with noise and vibration design experience.
• Hands-on with vibration isolation, structure-borne noise, floating floors, and pipe/duct isolation.
• Strong knowledge of noise/vibration criteria, instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Ability to read/ critique architectural, mechanical, and structural drawings; write specs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain concepts clearly.
• Professional network in acoustical consulting community.
• Travel up to 25% for project sites, meetings, and Victaulic facilities.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with acoustical consultants, MEP engineers, and architects across North America.
• Review specifications and drawings; advise on Victaulic vibration isolation meeting design intent.
• Serve as primary technical resource on product performance, deflection, and equivalency.
• Develop guidance, notes, and training materials for engineering and sales teams.

We're looking for a Senior Acoustical & Vibration Consultant to build out Victaulic's vibration isolation and acoustic engineering capability. In this role, you'll serve as the technical bridge between Victaulic and the acoustical consulting community, provide expert review of vibration isolation and noise control designs, and advise leadership on the capabilities Victaulic needs to build to succeed in this market.

Over time, the role will expand into direct acoustic and vibration consulting on projects.

What You'll Build & Own

• Build and maintain relationships with acoustical consultants, MEP engineers of record, and architects across North America.
• Review project specifications (e.g., Section 23 05 48, Vibration and Seismic Controls) and drawings; advise on how Victaulic's vibration isolation solutions meet or exceed consultant design intent.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for consultant questions on product performance, deflection criteria, and equivalency.
• Develop technical guidance, application notes, and training materials for internal engineering and sales teams.
• Advise leadership on product development, testing data, and documentation needed to secure specification positions.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering, acoustics, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience at an acoustical or MEP consulting firm, with direct responsibility for building mechanical noise and vibration design.
• Hands-on experience with equipment vibration isolation selection, structure-borne noise control, floating floors, and pipe/duct isolation.
• Strong working knowledge of noise and vibration criteria, measurement instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to read and critique architectural, mechanical, and structural drawings, and to write or review specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialists.
• Established professional network within the acoustical consulting community.
• Ability to travel up to 25% for project sites, client meetings, and Victaulic facilities.

What Sets You Apart

• Professional Engineer (PE) or P.Eng license.
• INCE Board Certification.
• Active involvement in ASA, INCE, or NCAC.
• Seismic restraint design experience (ASCE 7 / IBC; OSHPD/HCAI a plus).
• Experience in healthcare, data center, or education projects.
• Proficiency with acoustic and vibration modeling software, Revit/BIM, and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with piping thermal expansion and riser design.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for the full benefits package described above.
