Job summary

SLR International Corporation in the United States seeks a senior Acoustical Consultant to lead architectural/industrial acoustics projects and advance business development.

You will manage projects with junior staff, prepare reports and drawings, present to clients and at conferences, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineers; travel to client facilities as needed and maintain strong technical writing and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, physics, math or chemistry with 2–4 years technical background.
  • 10+ years of acoustical consulting experience and project leadership.
  • Experience with Cadna/A and SoundPLAN for modeling and analysis.
  • Willingness to travel to client facilities and present at conferences.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills; proficient with MS Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work with clients across industries.

As the SLR Consulting Acoustics team, we help clients make smart, sustainable choices when it comes to managing sound. The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000.

Full-time, permanent role with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Manage architectural/industrial acoustics projects with support from junior staff
  • Prepare proposals and lead business development
  • Prepare reports, technical documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Work with clients from a variety of industries
  • Work with other SLR engineers and specialists, assisting with work in a variety of disciplines
  • Manage project deliverables, multi-tasking and working concurrently on different projects
Qualifications/Education/Memberships
  • 2- or 4-year technical degree - engineering, physics, math, chemistry
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in acoustical consulting
  • Experience with Cadna/A and/or SoundPLAN
  • Experience traveling to client facilities and conducting field work
  • Experience presenting to clients and/or at technical conferences
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use design and engineering software
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills including excellent technical writing skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Possess a valid driver's license
