Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Senior Accreditation Specialist to lead collaboration with medical staff and leadership, ensuring compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and disease-specific certification requirements across the hospital.

The role serves as expert resource, mentor, and educator for regulatory programs; conducts internal surveys, guides on-site or written responses to surveys or investigations, and fosters evidence-based improvements in survey readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field is required.
  • Five years of hospital experience, preferably in patient care or quality.
  • Three years of experience in healthcare quality, accreditation or regulatory activities.
  • Two years of experience performing accreditation or regulatory activities in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and communicates with a wide variety of disciplines within the hospital to evaluate, improve, and sustain regulatory and accreditation readiness.
  • In partnership with hospital leadership, establishes a process to conduct a proactive review of regulatory, accreditation and certification to assess vulnerabilities to compliance with standards.
  • Leads process in collaboration with hospital leadership to assign teams to develop corrective action in response to survey findings and facilitate development and implementation of the corrective action processes.
