Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the WCIB Commercial Lending Controller team. The role focuses on manual journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting to strengthen accounting processes across the organization.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of financial accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and a background in audits. Location entails working from a U.S. Bank site several days per week with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.
• 5–8 years of experience in financial accounting activities.
• Experience with manual journal entries, account reconciliations, and accounting operations.
• Experience supporting financial audits and audit documentation.
• Experience developing, documenting, and improving accounting controls and processes.
• Experience with accounting reporting and analysis.
• Experience working within a controller organization.
• CPA or CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts.
• Process and support manual journal entries and related accounting activities.
• Prepare financial statements, accounting reports, and management reporting.
• Develop and maintain accounting controls, procedures, and documentation.
• Support audit requests and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Respond to inquiries regarding accounting policies, procedures, and accounting issues.
• Perform account reconciliations and research accounting-related questions.
• Identify opportunities to improve and standardize accounting processes.
• Support reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain and enhance automated accounting systems and reporting tools.
