Job summary

BNY Mellon is seeking a Sr Specialist for the Controllers team in Pittsburgh. The role focuses on accounting, financial reporting, governance, and control responsibilities to ensure timely delivery of financial information for management reporting, board reporting, regulatory filings, and external reporting.

The position involves executing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, can account reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting concepts and analysis techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial reporting packages for management, board, and regulatory filings.
• Support audits, regulatory examinations, and control testing with analysis and documentation.
• Analyze financial results, identify drivers, and provide insights to management.
• Assist in implementing new accounting standards and process improvements, leveraging automation and analytics.
