Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. is seeking an experienced Accounting Policy and Controls professional for an onsite role placed across multiple FirstEnergy locations, including Williamsport, MD.

The position focuses on policy guidance, cost settlements, and technical accounting configuration, reporting to the Director of Accounting Policy and Controls. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 7 years of applicable experience, with strong SAP, PowerBI, and data-analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years' related work experience.
• Working knowledge of SAP and FERC uniform system of accounts, reporting and forecasting.
• Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word).
• Strong analytical abilities and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate across FirstEnergy.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a safe workplace for coworkers and the community.
• Assisting and coordinating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close entries.
• Preparing capitalization and reclassification journal entries.
• Conducting non-consumption SD Reserve process monthly.
• Support Storm accounting processes and SOX controls.
• Extracting and manipulating data for various databases and systems.
