Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. is seeking an experienced accounting professional for its Accounting Policy and Controls team. The role supports monthly closes, journal entries, and regulatory reporting in Energy Delivery operations.

You will work with SAP/CREWS/CASCADE and related systems, ensuring internal controls and data integrity while collaborating across finance functions and with regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required; advanced degree a plus.
• 7+ years of related work experience in accounting/finance.
• Knowledge of SAP, FERC accounts, forecasting, and regulatory filings.
• Proficient with SAP, Qlikview and PowerBI applications; eager to evolve.
• Strong analytical, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close entries.
• Prepare capitalization and reclassification journal entries.
• Support regulatory filings and reporting activities.
• Develop and document SOX controls and PPE narratives.
• Extract and manipulate data using query tools across systems.
• Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams on procedures and controls.
