Job summary

State of Minnesota, Saint Paul, is seeking an Accounting Officer Senior to manage daily cash and certify cash for investments, with lead responsibilities over accounting staff. The role requires strong cashflow analysis, GAAP knowledge, and experience with NetSuite or ERP systems.

The position is based in Saint Paul with a hybrid schedule (minimum three days in-office) and up to 10% travel. Competitive benefits and pension are offered as part of state employment.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressive accounting/financial experience or two years plus a bachelor’s degree.
• GAAP knowledge and budgeting practices.
• Ability to review and reconcile complex financial data with accuracy.
• Ability to lead staff and provide direction.
• Ability to interpret state/federal financial statutes and policies.
• Experience with NetSuite or ERP, and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage TRA’s daily cash on hand and certify daily cash for SBI.
• Perform reconciliations of revenue and expenses.
• Process or verify member refunds.
• Provide leadwork direction to Account Clerk, Senior roles; train staff.
• Review payroll reports for accuracy and resolve EFT issues.
