Job summary

Accion, a global nonprofit, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead core accounting and general ledger operations under US GAAP, with responsibility for accuracy across grants, contracts, and investments.

You will supervise accounting staff, partner with Treasury, Budget, HR, and Global Operations, and drive internal controls, data quality, and process improvements, while coordinating with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required.
• CPA or in-progress toward CPA preferred.
• 7+ years nonprofit or grant-funded accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Hands-on ERP experience; NetSuite experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of financial statements and consolidate across entities.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, revenue recognition, receivables, and net asset reconciliation.
• Drive improvements in internal controls, data quality, and operational efficiency.
• Support the audit process and coordinate with auditors on requests.
• Contribute to Form 990 preparation and related filing activities.
• Partner with Finance Systems to support NetSuite initiatives and testing.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff with day-to-day oversight.
