Job summary

Inhabit is a global PropTech software company serving over 5 million units in the residential and short-term rental property management industries. The role is based in Knoxville, TN, with a hybrid schedule (4 days in office, 1 day remote).

You will assist with the general ledger record keeping and timely close to support financial reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of corporate accounting, CPA type or candidacy, strong Excel skills, GAAP knowledge, and a mindset for accuracy

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in corporate accounting.
• CPA candidate or ability to sit for examination in near future.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Finance systems.
• Big 4 experience or public company experience preferred.
• Software industry experience a plus.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of GAAP rules and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close in accordance with internal close schedule
• Prepare various accruals and ensure proper timing and classifications of expenses
• Assist in preparation of financial reports and analyses of period close activities
• Coordinate and engage in variance review meetings during close periods
• Partner with FP&A and/or operations management to resolve non-reconciling items and other analysis of monthly activities
• Maintain completeness and accuracy of the general ledger accounts on a monthly basis through account reconciliations
• Review and assist in ownership of treasury, billing and accounts payable
• Assist as needed on projects, such as internal and external audits
• Assess and analyze areas for process improvements.
