Job summary

RDO Equipment Co. in Fargo, ND seeks a Senior Accounting Manager - Financial Accounting to partner with the Director of Accounting and influence the organization’s accounting strategy. You will lead the close, reporting, and technical accounting governance while shaping scalable processes.

You’ll develop a high-performing team, drive automation, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, and collaborate with Finance and operations leaders to deliver timely, decision-useful financial information for

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Experience: At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility for financial close and reporting activities.
• Leadership: Demonstrated people leadership capability, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and development of highperforming teams.
• Skills: Strong partnering and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and communicate effectively across finance departments.
• Knowledge: Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to assess risk, apply professional judgment, and support conclusions for complex or nonroutine transactions.
• Travel: Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Valid work authorization: Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the financial accounting team while strengthening technical expertise and leadership capability.
• Oversee monthly close and financial reporting for a centralized accounting organization with accurate, timely results.
• Serve as a trusted technical resource for complex or non-routine transactions under U.S. GAAP.
• Champion process modernization, automation, ERP optimization, and standardized workflows; coordinate external audit activities.
