Senior Accounting Manager - Family Office

A large, multi-generational family office is seeking a hands-on Senior Accounting Manager to oversee accounting across a complex multi-entity structure with significant private equity and real estate investments.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee and review monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting for partnerships, operating companies, and trusts
• Review accounting workpapers prepared for tax return preparation
• Coordinate with private equity fund managers and third‑party administrators
• Apply strong technical accounting judgment to complex transactions and investment structures
• Serve as a primary accounting liaison to internal tax teams
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for complex investments, including private equity funds and direct investments as well as real estate holdings and related entities
• Maintain and enhance internal accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Train, mentor, and support accounting staff
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency
• Support special projects, entity structuring initiatives, and ad-hoc reporting needs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience with management exposure
• Experience in family office, private equity, real estate, hedge fund, or public accounting environments
• Big 4 or top‑tier public accounting experience a plus
• Strong expertise in partnership accounting and complex entity structures
• Proven experience reviewing workpapers for tax return preparation and coordinating with tax professionals
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• Experience in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven, in‑office environments
