Job summary

Attivo Partners is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead full-cycle accounting for multiple startup clients, including month-end close, AR/AP, payroll, and tax compliance. The role emphasizes policy development, processes, and working with early-stage companies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in fast-paced technology or professional services environment.
• Solid understanding of GAAP; CPA preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software packages listed.
• Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities and deliver value-added service.
• AI and technology savvy with willingness to leverage emerging tools.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly financial statements and budget vs actual analysis.
• Assist with financial modeling and forecasting for clients.
• Manage Accounts Receivable including invoicing, collections, and contract reviews.
• Manage Accounts Payable ensuring accurate entry, timely payment, and policy compliance.
• Process employee onboarding, payroll, and terminations.
• Mentor and train future team members.

Role Overview

The Senior Accounting Manager position is a hands-on role, responsible for accounting functions for multiple clients that include full-cycle month-end close, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and tax compliance. The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the general accounting for clients, assisting with the creation of financial statements and management reporting, managing the organization's cash, and assisting with the creation of departmental budgets and forecasts. Experience with developing and establishing policies and procedures within a corporation is highly preferred. The ideal candidate has worked at or with early-stage start-ups.

The position location is flexible/work from home, with preference given to candidates in the following cities where Attivo has an employee presence: San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles/Southern California, New York City, Austin, and Boston. Candidates in other locations welcome to apply. Some travel to in-person company events is required, approximately 2-3 weeks out of the year. In-person onboarding training will take place within the first 3 months of employment (locations vary).

Requirements

• Solid understanding of GAAP, CPA preferred
• Advanced+ Excel
• Experience with standard software solutions: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Campfire, Brex, Ramp, Rippling, Gusto, Rillet, Carta
• AI and technology savvy, with the ability and willingness to regularly leverage emerging tools and continuously adapt to evolving technology.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA preferred

Salary Range

Attivo offers a competitive base plus bonus, and opportunities for advancement. The starting salary range for Senior Accounting Manager is approximately $140,000 to $155,000 per year plus bonus.

Benefits for full-time employees include: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance (100% coverage for employees on base plan, 70% coverage for additional family members), participation in Flexible Spending Accounts and 401(k), 3 weeks PTO, voluntary Life Insurance & Disability plans, and work-from-home allowance.
