Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a seasoned accountant to perform complex financial analysis and support system-wide reporting. You will compile journal entries, oversee month-end close, and reconcile accounts while guiding staff and ensuring compliance with deadlines.

The role requires 5–7 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, and strong Excel/ERPBI skills to drive accurate financial statements and budgets across hospital(s).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; advanced degree preferred.
• Five to seven years of accounting work experience and strong financial accounting knowledge.
• Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and data retrieval from ERP/BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze complex financial information; prepare and upload journal entries to the general ledger including consolidations.
• Ensure accuracy of recorded transactions and support month-end close; research variances and inform management.
• Reconcile complex GL accounts and report material variances to management.
• Prepare schedules for financial reporting, including balance sheets and P&L statements.
• Analyze expenses, revenues, and obligations to forecast future financials.
• Assist with annual budgeting processes across departments and service lines.
• Train and mentor accounting staff; ensure compliance with deadlines and internal controls.
