Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with at least twelve semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (BAcc) or equivalent to meet education and experience requirements.
  • Master's degree in Accounting (MAcc) or equivalent to meet basic education and experience requirements.
  • One and one-half (1-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience for Level III; two and one-half (2-1/2) years for Level IV.
  • One year of systems accounting work experience in development/implementation of an integrated accounting system or related analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in evaluating and classifying fiscal data for budgetary and management purposes.
  • Conduct fact-finding studies to review and analyze fiscal and reporting needs across management levels.
  • Analyze accounting and financial reporting requirements; prepare system documentation and operating procedures.
  • Contribute to developing, revising, and maintaining the Highways accounting system and procedures manual.
  • Provide user training on accounting systems and related processes.
