$100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

A rapidly growing Insurance company is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant with – Statutory Accounting experience.

Location: Fully Remote (with occasional travel to Nebraska – monthly or quarterly)

Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 base salary + 15% bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze statutory financial statements using Excel, Power BI, and Oracle
• Lead monthly and annual close processes, including MODCO and Coinsurance settlements
• Reconcile accounts and compile annuity reserve valuations for GAAP and STAT reporting
• Investigate financial variances and resolve complex accounting issues
• Document internal controls and develop procedures for new products and investments
• Support CFO initiatives, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and regression testing
• Manage journal entries and reconciliations for annuity products (FIA, MYGA)
• Provide insights into product, investment, and reinsurance performance
• Coordinate quarterly schedules and regulatory filings
• Collaborate on Blue Book schedules, MAR compliance, and external audits
• Contribute to Oracle chart of accounts and DataBricks data lake implementation
• Drive process improvements and support RBC and AM Best BCAR modeling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in statutory accounting or financial analysis
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and advanced Excel skills
• Experience with Oracle, SAP, or similar financial systems
• Familiarity with tax laws and statutory reporting requirements
• Excellent analytical, communication, and time management skills
• CPA/ACCA certification or progress toward certification is a plus
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
