The successful candidate will drive month-end close, US GAAP reporting, and forecasts while partnering with Tax, Legal, Treasury, and business stakeholders to implement robust accounting conclusions

Senior Accountant, Specialized Accounting

Koch Capabilities is seeking a motivated, self-driven Senior Accountant to own complex accounting activities and help transform how the Specialized Accounting team delivers intercompany debt, legal transaction, and restructuring support. This role will drive accurate reporting, scalable processes, strong controls, and cross-functional execution across complex accounting matters and will be based in Lisle, IL.

This role is not eligible for Visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future.

Our Team

The Koch accounting leveraged capability group works across Koch businesses to develop standard processes and leverage technology to solve complex problems for our Finance Organization.

What You Will Do

Own and Transform:

  • Own accounting responsibilities for dynamic intercompany debt structures, ensuring debt facts, calculations, and compliance requirements are properly reported and maintained. Provide accurate actual and forecasted US GAAP and management reporting values.
  • Execute timely and accurate month-end close, US GAAP and management reporting, and forecast activities while meeting regulatory, Koch policy, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Identify, prioritize, and implement process improvements across intercompany debt and specialized accounting workflows using Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, automation, and analytics to increase efficiency and reduce risks.
  • Provide accounting support for complex business transactions, including legal entity restructurings, mergers, liquidations, contributions, distributions, debt activities, and acquisition-related transactions. Partner with Tax, Legal, Treasury, and business stakeholders to develop accounting conclusions and implementation plans.
  • Strengthen the control environment by identifying risks, designing and documenting effective controls and reconciliations, and maintaining accounting procedures through business change.

  • Build effective partnerships across Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and IT to align priorities, resolve complex issues, and enable sound decisions and long-term value creation.

  • Learn and quickly adapt to changes including new systems and processes.
  • Be an example of and proponent for Principle Based Management within the leveraged capability accounting team.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

A solid understanding of the general ledger, balance sheet, and income statement through education or professional experience.

Experience managing multiple accounting priorities and meeting established deadlines.

Experience working within a team environment to identify issues, implement solutions, and meet established deadlines.

Experience with Microsoft Excel, including logical and lookup formulas, pivot tables, and formatting

Professional experience in an accounting related role, increasing in responsibilities and knowledge.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Demonstrated application of Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, automation, or advanced analytics to improve accounting research, transaction analysis, reconciliations, documentation, controls, or reporting workflows.
  • Experience with ERPs and other accounting and consolidation tools (i.e., SAP, S4 HANA, and OneStream), Blackline, or Kyriba.
  • Corporate Accounting or Financial Reporting experience, especially as it relates to managing intercompany loan portfolios, consolidations, intercompany accounting, and other complex accounting topics.
  • Understanding of Koch Capabilities and the Businesses they serve or experience supporting a large company.
  • Experience communicating accounting information and concepts, while tailoring the message to the audience.

For this role, we anticipate paying $85,000- $105,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
