Job summary

Hecla Greens Creek Mine in Juneau, AK seeks a Senior Accountant to lead site budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning. You will analyze operating costs, ensure proper coding, and support month‑end closings while working with the Accounting Supervisor and Controller.

Based in Juneau, you will handle annual budgets, site forecasts, and capital cost data, with MS Excel/Access modeling and MS‑based reporting. Some travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• B.A. in Accounting required or equivalent experience.
• Five+ years in accounting, preferably in mining.
• Strong MS Excel/Access skills and MS Word proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
• Analyze monthly operating costs and advise on cost overruns and coding.
• Support month-end close and general accounting processes.
• Maintain sales revenue database in MS Access for the Sales Accountant.
• Prepare sales and property tax filings annually.
• Collaborate with departments to provide reports and analyses.
