Job summary

Swiftly, a leading transit data platform, is seeking a Senior Accountant to handle financial reporting, general ledger, month-end close, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and compliance in a software/SaaS environment.

HQ in San Francisco, but we are open to candidates in most locations across the U.S. as well as Ontario and British Columbia, Canada. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of accounting experience within a software, SaaS, or technology company preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Analyze software and SaaS customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue treatment in accordance with ASC 606.
• Manage deferred revenue, contract assets, and contract liabilities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Review AP, AR, and payroll activities as needed.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and support team development.
