Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) seeks a Senior Accountant with ASC 606 expertise to lead revenue recognition and strengthen GL processes. The role supports migrating financial reporting from nested Excel models to ERP-driven outputs and dashboards.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in accounting or auditing, solid ERP experience, and a commitment to accuracy, internal controls, and continuous improvement. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 5–7 years of accounting/auditing experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements using ERP data and reports.
• Strong customer service and communication across all organizational levels.
• Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and ensure compliance.
• Experience supporting auditors and preparing audit-ready documentation.
• Professional, reliable, proactive, and committed to continuous learning.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ASC 606 revenue recognition and related reporting.
• Modernize financial statements to be ERP-driven dashboards.
• Support month-end close and year-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Identify bottlenecks and pursue automation of accounting workflows.
• Provide audit support and maintain internal controls.
• Lead system upgrade testing and process improvements.
