Helsing is seeking a Senior Accountant to build and scale the US accounting function from the ground up. You will partner with the Director of Finance to ensure timely, auditable financial records and lead collaborations across teams, with high visibility to US leadership.

Preference for Martinsburg, WV, with Washington DC considered. The role emphasizes strong US GAAP, ERP systems, and proactive process improvements in a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive experience in corporate accounting.
• Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Advanced Excel skills, especially Power Query.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge: cash management, leases, fixed assets, revenue recognition.
• Experience with ERP systems like NetSuite or SAP and procure-to-pay.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the US accounting function
• Oversee inventory control and cost accounting for US manufacturing facilities
• Prepare journal entries, review ledger postings for accuracy and completeness, and maintain the general ledger and sub‑ledgers
• Perform key aspects of the monthly close process including balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis
• Support external audit and due diligence requests
• Provide hands‑on support for the implementations of financial and information management systems (ERP, procure-to-pay, T&E management, etc.)
