Inspire Veterinary Partners is seeking an energetic and professional Senior Accountant who is passionate about leading others, practicing sound accounting skills, while building something special in the process. Using excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will support field operation leadership and enhance key accounting practices. As a member of the Finance and Accounting team, the Senior Accountant will also personally provide competent and efficient execution of responsibilities for our company and teams.

Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will perform and coordinate accounting duties within the organization. Responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger and accounts payables files, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, conducting month and year-end closing processes, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. To be successful as a Senior Accountant, the candidate should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), strong financial analysis skills, and the ability to develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. An outstanding Senior Accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.
Job Responsibilities:
Managing Financial Operations:
- Supervise, prepare, verify, and maintain financial records, including accounts payables, journal entries, and general ledger accounts.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and coordinate month, quarter, and year-end closing activities.
- Conduct payroll reporting and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and industry regulations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, such as balance sheets, income, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Prepare revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
- Present financial information to stakeholders, management, and auditors.
- Track company spending by providing detailed insights into areas where financial efficiency could improve.
- Analyze financial statements and reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize financial software and tools to perform complex data analysis.
- Collaborate with management to develop financial strategies and forecasts for the organization's overall growth and sustainability.
- Provide financial insights and recommend solutions to optimize resource allocation and cost management.
- Research/investigate and resolve various issues as assigned.
- Provide technical support and advice to CFO/Controller.
Guiding and Mentoring:
- Provide guidance on best practices and resolving complex accounting issues.
- Perform other accounting duties and support junior staff as required or assigned.
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments.
Supporting Audit and Tax Processes:
- Collaborate with auditors and assist with financial audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and legal requirements to ensure compliance.
- Design and implement internal control systems to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Work closely with tax professionals to prepare tax returns and meet tax obligations.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of accounting-related experience (veterinary or similar field). Public company experience a plus.
- 2-5 years of experience as a leader of a management team of a rapidly growing business.
- Knowledge of GAAP; public company accounting experience preferred.
- Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
- Experience with financial reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of Accounting/Finance Management System such as Sage Intacct Accounting a plus.
- Experience with Bill.com preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word) and Teams. Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Excel.
