The Senior Accountant, Primary Care Organization performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects. The Senior Accountant work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Accountant, Primary Care Organization prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. Analyzes and prepares financial statements and reports. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Five or more years of experience in an accounting or finance role.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with proficiency in pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas.

Preferred skills

• Master's Degree in Business Administration or Master's Degree in Accounting

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

• Knowledge of SQL and Snowflake

• Experience with PowerBI

• Previous experience in healthcare

• This role will report to an Accounting Lead.

• Is this role you will be an individual contributor.

• This role will not have any domestic travel.

• This role will be full remote within the US. If located near a Humana office, this role can be considered hybrid.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$78,400 - $107,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
