Remote Opportunity within the United States. Must be willing to work Pacific Hours.

Responsibilities:
  • Record and report research expenditures for both internally and externally funded research projects.
  • Ensure proper reimbursement on all externally funded research projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to other Grant Accounting personnel.
  • Ensure grant accounting procedures comply with A-133 regulations.
  • Reconcile and verify NIH cash draws. Prepare quarterly NSF Request for Funds.
  • Prepare year-end schedules required by auditors for grant-related financial audits. Assist in answering questions related to grant schedules and processes.
  • Calculate and prepare grant income accrual journal entries at month end.
  • Act as a resource for operational issues within Grant accounting.
  • Prepare Financial Status Reports and other reports for government agencies as necessary.
  • Handle correspondence with outside agencies and departments related to grants.
  • Ensure accuracy of NIH Award Notification Reports and distribute them.
  • Act as grant supervisor in the absence of the Grant Accounting Supervisor.
  • Instruct or assign work to accounting clerks and other staff engaged in grant or general accounting activities.
  • Supervise employees, including selection, training, performance appraisal, and work allocation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (experience may substitute for education).
  • 5-8 years of experience in government grant accounting and/or fund accounting.
