Job summary

Bell & Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced accountant to handle general ledger tasks, journal entries and reconciliations for accurate financial records.

You will support month-end close, year-end processes, and sales/use tax compliance while aiding in billing and financial statement preparation. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to audits, improve internal controls, and grow into a leadership role over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–7 years of well-rounded accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations.
• Public accounting or consulting experience is a plus.
• Sales and use tax and billing process experience preferred.
• ERP experience required; Epicor experience is a plus but not required.
• Analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• High initiative and a team-oriented mindset with ownership.
• Eagerness to learn and grow into leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with sales and use tax compliance, including reconciliations, filings, and reporting.
• Provide billing support and help resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Assist with financial statement preparation, account analysis, and supporting schedules.
• Support external audits and provide requested documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support day-to-day accounting operations.
• Take on additional responsibilities over time, with the opportunity to grow into an Assistant Controller or Controller role.
