Position Details

This role offers a pay range provided by NYS Office of Temporary & Disability Assistance. Your actual salary will depend on your skills and experience. The base pay ranges from $53,764.00 to $85,138.00 per year.

Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze laws, legislation, policies, and regulations to assess their fiscal impact on existing systems and projects.
  • Determine system changes, review business requirements, participate in testing, and conduct user acceptance testing.
  • Maintain fiscal procedural manuals.
  • Contribute to planning and designing statewide financial systems, becoming a subject matter expert.
  • Participate in meetings, document processes, and respond to inquiries.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other agencies.
  • Manage project deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Perform system testing and report on functionality during project progression.
Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must provide an unofficial transcript showing 24 semester credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation. Resumes must clearly demonstrate how minimum qualifications are met. Specific qualifications vary by level:

  • Trainee 1: Bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, or taxation, or a degree with 24 semester credit hours in these areas.
  • Trainee 2: Same as Trainee 1 plus one year of relevant professional experience.
  • Full Performance: Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant experience or a master's degree in the field, or CPA license.
Additional Information

This position is part of the NY HELPS program, allowing non-competitive hiring and future conversion to permanent status. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and meet the minimum qualifications outlined. Telecommuting up to 50% may be available. Salary starts at $53,764 for Trainee 1 and $59,994 for Trainee 2.
