Job summary

The Senior Accountant, Operations at New World Symphony will manage the general ledger, conduct month-end close, and prepare financial statements for internal review and external reporting. This role collaborates across departments to ensure accurate, timely financial information and strong internal controls.

Key duties include cash management, budgeting support, fixed assets tracking, and assisting with annual tax filings and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience required.
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record and post journal entries to the general ledger in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform month-end and year-end closings with reconciliations and analyses.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and departmental reports.
• Assist with annual audits by providing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Monitor banking activities, cash receipts, and disbursements; maintain accurate cash records.
• Support budgeting processes and variance analyses for operating plans.
