Job summary

Roessel Joy seeks a Senior Accountant in Beverly, MA with 3-5 years of hands-on nonprofit or fund accounting experience. Higher education experience is highly preferred. Responsibilities include journal entries, month- and year-end close, reconciliations, and endowment accounting.

The ideal candidate will manage gift, grant, and investment accounting, support audits, and contribute to financial reporting including Form 990 and single audits. Advanced Excel and Workday experience are desired.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on nonprofit or fund accounting experience
• Higher education experience preferred
• Strong journal entry, close, and general ledger reconciliation experience
• Knowledge of gift, grant, investment, and endowment accounting
• Experience supporting audits and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Workday experience preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end close
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
• Manage gift, grant, investment, and endowment accounting
• Collaborate with Advancement, investment advisors, and sponsored programs teams
• Support audits and financial reporting, including financial statements and footnotes
• Assist with Form 990 and Single Audit preparation
• Prepare budget-to-actual reports and analyze financial variances
• Support accounting processes and reporting improvements
