Job summary

Ledgent in California is seeking a Senior Accountant with experience in the nonprofit and affordable housing sector to support financial reporting, fund accounting, reconciliations, and audit preparation.

You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, assist with month- and year-end close, and coordinate audit schedules, while maintaining fixed asset records and financial analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required.
• 4+ years of accounting experience in nonprofit and/or affordable housing.
• Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and financial reporting experience.
• Audit and year-end close experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Perform bank, cash, AR, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Coordinate audit schedules, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain fixed asset records and reconcile activity to the general ledger.
• Assist with fund accounting and financial analysis.
