Job summary

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the monthly close, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and oversee AP functions for a fast-paced organization in Bethesda, MD. The ideal candidate will bring strong NetSuite experience and a solid GAAP foundation.

Responsibilities include close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, AP oversight, and collaboration with business partners to improve accounting efficiency. CPA or CPA-track is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong experience with NetSuite required.
• Experience with month-end close, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Prior experience overseeing or reviewing accounts payable activities.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• CPA or CPA-track is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Perform and maintain accurate bank and cash reconciliations.
• Review balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items timely.
• Provide oversight of the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls.
• Collaborate with AP staff and business partners to resolve invoice and payment issues.
• Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
• Support external audits and provide required documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and accounting efficiencies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP.
