Job summary

The Senior Accountant position at AMETEK, Inc. is a critical role within the Micro-Poise Finance team, reporting to the Micro-Poise Controller.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting, inventory and cost accounting, and financial analysis.
• Experience with an integrated ERP system; SAP experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills; ability to model large data sets.
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end closing activities with journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger under US GAAP.
• Support inventory, cost, and manufacturing accounting including variance/standard cost analysis.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports (P&L, balance sheet) and explain variances.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and ad-hoc profitability analyses.
• Support SOX documentation and internal control improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve costing and reporting questions.
