Job summary

CFO Vertical is seeking a Senior Accountant for its Inland Empire manufacturing and distribution operations. You will own inventory accounting, fixed assets, and cost analyses while partnering with operations, warehouse, and leadership to drive accurate reporting and robust controls.

The role supports month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and audits, with opportunities to improve processes and influence operational efficiency across multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4-5+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing, distribution, inventory, or cost accounting environments.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, reconciliations, and physical inventory procedures.
  • Experience managing fixed assets, including capitalization and depreciation.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing or distribution environment is highly preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with accounting, operations, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all inventory accounting activities, including reconciliations, inventory analysis, and inventory-related journal entries
  • Monitor inventory transactions and ensure the accuracy of inventory balances across multiple locations
  • Analyze inventory variances and partner with operations to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
  • Support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory subledgers to the general ledger
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and maintaining fixed asset schedules
  • Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts
  • Perform cost and profitability analyses to support operational and financial decision-making
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Support external audits and prepare audit schedules and documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase operational efficiency
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports for leadership as needed
