Job summary

Brookfield Residential is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage monthly accounting, job cost, and financial reporting for selected land projects and related entities. You will critically evaluate performance, efficiency, reporting, and internal controls, collaborating with cross-functional teams and JV reporting both Operations and Finance.

Responsibilities include consolidations, intercompany reconciliations, and maintaining strong process documentation, with audits support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required; CPA or CPA-track a plus.
• Experience in financial reporting and working paper preparation, full-cycle and job cost accounting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel skills for ad-hoc templates and automation.

Responsibilities

• Record and calculate sales, cost of sales, land acquisition, and accruals.
• Monitor, record, and reconcile cash activity (banking, wire transfers, loan draws, capital calls).
• Track property taxes and prepare payments.
• Prepare entries for consolidation, elimination, sales billings, reimbursements, and month-end closing.
• Reconcile accounts, including intercompany transactions and working capital.
• Collaborate with internal departments on purchase orders, change orders, budgets, and reclasses.
• Liaise with auditors and respond to inquiries.
