Oliver James Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its rapidly growing life insurance business in the Philadelphia area. The role focuses on supporting financial statements, journal entries and reconciliations while enhancing internal controls and reporting.

The successful candidate will contribute to audits, statutory examinations and strategic finance projects as the company expands its annuity platform.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline is required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience within the insurance industry or public accounting.
• Experience with US GAAP and statutory accounting principles is highly regarded.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a rapidly growing life insurance business that is continuing to gain significant market share and expand its annuity platform.

With ambitious growth plans and an expanding portfolio of life insurance entities, the business is investing in its finance function and looking to appoint a Senior Accountant who wants to be part of that journey.

Responsibilities

• Support financial statements preparations.
• Prepare journal entries and perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support external audits and statutory examinations.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial reporting processes.
• Analyse financial results, investigate variances and identify opportunities to improve reporting.
• Assist with management reporting, ad hoc analysis and wider finance projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of accounting experience within the insurance industry, either in an insurance company or public accounting.
• Experience with US GAAP and statutory accounting principles is highly regarded.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Strong technical, analytical and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.

Compensation: $90,000-$140,000 base salary, depending on experience.

Working arrangement: Hybrid, with 2-3 days per week in the office. Candidates should be commutable to the Philadelphia suburbs.
