Job summary

Astound in New York seeks a Senior Accountant I to manage day-to-day accounting operations, payroll, PP&E, inventory and reporting under US GAAP. The role emphasizes strong analytical skills and precise ledger management.

Responsibilities include monthly/quarterly close, journal entries, reconciliations, cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, AP, FP&A and Tax, and contributing to process improvements. Requires CPA and a Bachelor's in Accounting; Big 4 background preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Big 4 Audit experience is required.
• Prior experience with month-end close procedure is a plus.
• Experience with major ERP systems (Great Plains and/or SAP) preferred.
• Telecommunications experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication and written skills with the ability to convey clear and concise thoughts and ideas.
• Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management and to adapt quickly as business needs evolve.
• Proficient in the utilization of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).

A Day in the Life of the Senior Accountant I:

The Sr Accountant I is responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with maintaining Accounting operations. The Sr Accountant I will play a critical role managing payroll, software capitalization, PP&E, inventory, and reporting. The role requires strong analytical skills and knowledge of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Execution of monthly and quarterly close, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
• Prepare journals, account reconciliations and perform fluctuation analysis.
• Ownership over payroll, software capitalization, PP&E, and inventory.
• Support quarterly review and annual audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility and help develop/refine accounting processes and procedures.
• Work cross functionally with Finance, Legal, AP, Payroll, FP&A, Tax and various business owners on policies, processes, and help drive key system initiatives and improvements.
• Other responsibilities include but are not limited to participation in special projects, system enhancements or ad hoc analyses as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA certification is required.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 (annually), plus opportunities for benefits.
