Job summary

Align Credit Union in Lowell, MA seeks an accounting professional to maintain the credit union's accounting records and reports in accordance with GAAP and banking practices. This hybrid role requires on-site presence 1-2 days per week.

You will prepare and reconcile journal entries, support daily settlement, monthly accruals, and various accounting reports while coordinating with staff across departments. Hours are Monday–Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 40 hours weekly, with base pay between $24.45

Qualifications

• Experience recording and reconciling journal entries.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and banking accounting practices.
• Proficient in budgeting, reporting, and Excel analysis.

Role

To maintain the Credit Union's accounting records and reports, ensuring they are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and banking accounting practices.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Creates and reconciles journal entries with the accounting general ledger accounts.
• Reconciliation for daily settlement of the credit union.
• Prepares and reconciles monthly accruals.
• Prepares various accounting reports and spreadsheets.
• Coordinates accounting matters with other staff members and departments.
• Assist with Accounts Payable, as needed. Provides backup support to other areas of the Accounting area.
• Offers suggestions for improving and streamlining processes and procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

This is a hybrid role and requires work to be performed on site in Lowell, MA a minimum of 1-2 days per week.
