Rehmann in Michigan is seeking a Senior Accountant who enjoys working with multiple clients, solving complex financial challenges, and improving operations. You will independently manage engagements and deliver high-quality client service.

This role emphasizes review of reconciliations, journal entries, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close. You will mentor team members and contribute to business growth while maintaining strong client relationships.

• Experience managing multiple client engagements and deadlines.
• Ability to review reconciliations and prepare complex bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations.
• Strong client service and ability to explain financial information to non-accounting audiences.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

Job Description

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with multiple clients, solving complex financial challenges, and helping organizations improve their financial operations. The Senior Accountant independently manages engagements, delivers high-quality client service, and contributes to team development and business growth.

What You’ll Do

• Provide accounting support for a portfolio of small to mid-sized clients, including complex organizations.
• Review account reconciliations and prepare complex bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations.
• Review standard journal entries and prepare non-standard adjusting entries.
• Analyze financial activity and identify variances or irregularities.
• Manage customer invoicing, statement distribution, and collections activities.
• Review accounts payable transactions and advise clients on spending variances.
• Prepare and file complex 1099 reporting.
• Assist with grant accounting, including budget preparation, invoicing, and financial reporting.
• Serve as a primary contact for client questions and day-to-day financial matters.
• Prepare month-end close support and financial reporting packages.
• Review financial statements and client-specific management reports.
• Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules.
• Perform budget-to-actual variance analyses.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow projection activities.

Your Desired Qualifications

• Experience working in the healthcare niche including, physician and dental practices
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of accounting experience.
• CPA or other advanced accounting certification, a plus.
• Experience leveraging modern cloud-based accounting technologies, automation tools, and reporting solutions.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective client relationships.
• Experience supporting multiple clients or working within a professional services environment, a plus.
